Hello everyone! Yesterday, we looked at the new British Churchill tank. Today, we have another new tank from Panlos. This time, the theme finally features a tank destroyer. I wonder why many manufacturers produce numerous WWII tanks but seldom make tank destroyers. I’ve always loved the variety of WWII tank destroyers—just seeing their large-caliber barrels is so satisfying.
Today’s new release from Panlos is the SU-100, the most frequently featured Soviet vehicle. The SU-100 is a derivative of the SU-85 tank destroyer, with its chassis partly taken from the SU-85 and partly from the T-34-85. It was the backbone of the Soviet mobile anti-tank forces at the time and the only vehicle capable of threatening at long range the German tank series named after animals.
Its battlefield performance was outstanding. Now, let’s take a look at how this building block tank performs.

This year’s series of tank chassis features quite a few small brick fragments. The reason for this is to leave enough space for detailed interior construction in the later stages.

The Gun Mantlet
This special piece has appeared—why does it look so much like a radar part from Star Wars?
Since tank destroyers don’t have a turret, the construction of the upper hull differs from that of a regular tank. Here, the front armor of the gun shield has been completed.
From this angle, you can see the gun shield more clearly. It uses a tech pin mechanism to securely fix the elevation angle, which improves stability.
The front of the gun shield is slightly offset to the left, which matches the characteristics of the original vehicle.

What’s really surprising is how smooth the tracks are, thanks to the rubber bands. They glide effortlessly, and you can easily move them with just a single finger, making the tracks run smoothly.

The interior space is completely utilized with a very compact design. Although the assembly is more challenging, it makes the model more enjoyable and rewarding to build.

The barrel was slightly curved right after it was completed, but after adjustment, this issue was resolved.

The printed details add a lot of depth and texture.
The external structure is sturdy enough that it won’t fall off with just a touch, which is one of the key factors behind this model’s success.

In short, this model exceeds my expectations by far. I’d say it’s definitely worth getting, even a must-have. The completely new design approach offers a fresh and unique building experience.
